Before using Screen Magic do I need to scrub or rinse off screens with water?
No scrubbing or rinsing is necessary. Just spray on Screen Magic and you’re done. On very dirty screens, you may want to take a dry brush and brush the edges first. You will usually see a lot of heavy dirt/dust build up where the screen attaches to the frame. On really, really dirty screens you may want to dry brush the front of the screen, but most screens require no pre-treatment.
How does Screen Magic work, where does the dust go?
Our special formula of emulsions, UV inhibitors, glossing agents, and dust repellents don’t just cover the dust, it destroys it. The dust particles are organically dissolved making the screens look like new and the dust repellents help to keep them looking that way.
How long will the screens look like new?
Screens will stay looking like new for about 4-5 months and then need to be treated again at around 6 months.
How long does Screen Magic take to dry?
Our tests have shown it takes Screen Magic about 20-30 minutes to fully dry, depending on temperature and humidity.
Does Screen Magic look the same when it’s dry as when it’s wet?
Yes, this helps you to pick out spots on the screen that you may have missed right away instead of waiting for them to dry like when you scrub them with soap and water.
Does Screen Magic work on all types of screens?
Screen Magic works on all types of screens. Bug screens, sliding screen doors, and solar window screens of all different colors.
Does Screen Magic contain any chemicals?
Screen Magic is completely green. Screen Magic contains no solvents, no phosphorus or petroleum distillates that can cause ozone-depletion. Screen Magic is non-toxic, non-flammable inert and non reactive.
How much Screen Magic does it take to treat a screen?
It takes about .50 oz to treat an average screen. That works out to about 21 cents per screen. One gallon of Screen Magic will treat about 250 screens. 5 gallons of Screen Magic will treat about 1250 screens.
Is it OK if Screen Magic gets on plants or grass.
Screen Magic has no effect on plants or grass. We do not recommend that you clean the screens on a cement driveway. Even though Screen Magic will evaporate from cement fairly quickly, if a customer comes home and sees a bunch of outlines of screen on the driveway it may cause concern. Do not spray on asphalt; it will be visible for months.
Will Screen Magic transfer to the window if it rains?
Once Screen Magic is dry (20-30 minutes after applying) there is no visible product transfer to the window.
If Screen Magic gets on the window does it make the window hard to clean the next time (make glass hydrophobic)?
Screen Magic does not make glass hydrophobic. You can test this yourself very easily by spraying Screen Magic directly on to a window, wipe it off and then clean the window as you normally do.
